They were both still pretty shaken from the summer's events and (in classic Bittertongue fashion) had avoided talking about most of it. I don't sleep well when I'm alone anymore." <i>Don't sleep well when you </i>aren't<i> alone, either,</i> she thought. But his eyes said <i>Don't,</i> and so she didn't. </blockquote> It's not perfect, the language needs tweaking, and I really don't know where I was going with the scene, but there it is.
