Wow. Fantastic post!

With regards to Michelle Malkin and Karl Rove: they deserve each other. They both make me ill for different reasons.

I remembered Books That Don't Suck. I remembered it because I bookmarked this place many many ages ago as a place I would want to continue checking in on.

So when I come curiously sauntering through to see what has been done to this idea of old, and read this blog, I'm happy to find that it has grown into a lot more than just Books That Don't Suck.

I don't like politics. I especially don't like American politics. But I really really like this, and hope Obama is everything that America needs him to be. Since as you've heart warmingly written, yes, it is needed. If I could vote for him, I would too.

Thanks, you guys.

Watching Obama's acceptance speech last night, he made the point beautifully:

"Because one of the things that we have to change in our politics is the idea that people cannot disagree without challenging each other's character and patriotism."

That is one of the many reasons I'm voting for this man. He gets it.

(Text of his full speech is here, if you haven't heard/read it yet.)

Shannon will be bringing your dad a present in the form of shortbread. Marty will have to think of his own present. Perhaps an choreographed interpretive robot dance.

In all seriousness, this post was wonderful.

When we come out in october--and I am crying a bit as I type this--I am asking your dad about the Rice Wine again, and I'm bringing him a present.

No, the present is not Shannon, but it maybe shortbread.
